Methodology

How Calculate My Project calculates project estimates

Every calculator validates raw input, converts measurements into documented canonical units, performs the formula without presentation rounding, and formats the result only after the exact calculation is complete.

Exact requirements and purchase quantities are different

If a project requires 41.3 bags, the exact requirement remains 41.3. The purchase quantity is reported separately as 42 bags. Purchase rounding never changes the underlying volume or a later formula.

Assumptions stay visible

Material yield, density, coverage, waste, compaction, and package size can materially change an estimate. Defaults are cited, editable where appropriate, and included with the result.

Verification before publication

Published calculators use independently prepared golden examples, imperial and metric equivalence checks, boundary and invalid-input tests, documented formulas, and a manual review of the visible worked example.
