Privacy at Calculate My Project

Calculate My Project does not require an account for public calculators. Ordinary calculations are represented in the page URL and are not stored as customer or project records by the application.

Shared calculation URLs

A submitted calculator places the values you entered—such as dimensions, units, waste allowance, and optional price—in the URL so the result can be reopened and shared. Do not put confidential information in calculator fields or share a calculation link with someone who should not see those values. URLs may also be retained by your browser history and processed in routine hosting or security logs.

Browser storage

Recent calculations and an explicit unit-system preference are stored only in your browser using local storage. A recent entry contains the calculator slug and version, entered values, creation time, and a short dimension label. Calculate My Project keeps up to 12 recent entries per calculator. You can remove individual entries beside the calculator or clear site data through your browser. Calculation continues when storage is unavailable, corrupted, private, or full.

Service logs

The Rails application filters the calculation parameter namespace in its structured parameter logs. The hosting platform and network infrastructure may still process routine request information such as IP address, user agent, full requested URL, and timestamps for security, reliability, and diagnostics. Calculation values are not intentionally sent to an analytics provider.

Analytics and advertising

Google Analytics is enabled on the production site to measure which pages and calculators are useful. Its tag is not loaded until you select “Allow analytics.” You can change that choice at any time with the “Privacy choices” control in the footer.

When allowed, analytics receives the page title, the page URL without its query string, the referring site origin, general browser and device information, approximate geography, and allowlisted events such as calculator completion, unit-system changes, sharing, printing, recent-calculation reopening, and related-calculator navigation. Calculate My Project does not intentionally send exact dimensions, calculated quantities, prices, saved calculation contents, free-text labels, or shared calculation query strings.

Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals are disabled. User-level and event-level data is retained for no more than 14 months. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies to distinguish visits after consent; declining or withdrawing consent prevents further analytics reporting and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies from this site. Advertising remains disabled. If advertising is enabled later, this notice and the consent system will be reviewed before any ad request is made.

This notice will be revised when the data flow, provider, retention, advertising status, or visitor choices change.
